Getting Out

It’s been a busy week! My son is home on his Fall break. I needed to hardwire my laptop into the internet at a school. We ended up going to the facilitator’s office at my son’s old high school. Unfortunately, there is no place on my laptop to connect the hardwire for the internet. So my laptop is still out of commission. While we were there, my son wanted to visit many of his old teachers. I was so worn out afterwards, but it was nice to see so many familiar faces!

My son and I went to breakfast at The Flying Biscuit Wednesday. Afterwards, we went to the mall so I could get some new Lucky brand jeans. I have lost so much weight that my jeans were too big. I found out after I bought and washed them that I had two of the same size at my house, along with two pairs in the next size up.

I received a refurbished iPad. However, some apps are not working on it. My son is going to try to help me with it this week. I’m super excited to have my own iPad and not have to borrow my stepdad’s.

I am working on finishing a UGA wreath for a sorority sister. I should have had it done by now, but it seems to be taking me longer than one I have made before. I also made a baby wreath with onesies and little pants. I hung rattles and pacifiers from it. It turned out pretty cute! I had a nurse request I make her a Happy Birthday wreath. I am trying to work on that and the UGA wreath a little everyday.

I am still working on typing up the book I started writing when my son was about 6 months old. I hope to finish it before I go back to work. Once I’m done typing it up, I will look into self-publishing it. This one is called Second Chances: Amelia. It’s about a woman with two young children who lost her husband to cancer. Of course, it’s a romance, so she ends up meeting someone and falling in love again. I plan to write a second book inspired by my journey with leukemia…about a woman that finds love after battling and surviving cancer.

My stepdad and I made witches again this year for the front yard. We ordered lights for under the cauldron that look like flames. My son and I added Halloween colored lights to the porch last night. Mom and I had our nails and toes done yesterday. I chose a purple ombré with glitter for Halloween. I absolutely love Halloween!

Today, I am receiving immunoglobulin and an anti microbial. These drugs are supposed to help boost my immune system and to prevent bacterial infections in my lungs. It’s been a month since I have had to stay in the hospital. Prayers and positive thoughts that things continue to improve and there are no more hospital visits anytime soon! My oncologist does want to have another bone marrow biopsy done. This will be number 10…adding to the Swiss cheese illium! I am now seeing him about once a month. My memory is still a bit off…I find myself having to ask my parents questions to jog my memory.

I am journaling daily using Souleika Jaouad’s book called The Book of Alchemy. I have only done 3-4 days, but I am loving it so far! It’s getting me writing every single day! I am also using a journal to read The Bible in a year. It groups readings together by topic for the week, and after the week of readings, there are reflection questions. I am on week two and am really enjoying it as well.

I’m so blessed that my cousin got tickets for me to see Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Lauren Alaina, and Zach Top in April. They are doing the concert inside Sanford Stadium! It’s so fitting since a picture of Luke Bryan hung on my IV poles. My mom suggested I make a fake IV pole with Luke’s picture on it for the show.

Well I suppose that’s about all the adventures I have had recently. Until next time, I will be dancing with Luke!
